HC Coombs Policy Forum

The HC Coombs Policy Forum is a key element of the Australian National Institute for Public Policy (ANIPP). ANIPP is a strategic collaboration between the Australian Government and The Australian National University.

As the policy “think-tank” within ANIPP, the HC Coombs Policy Forum employs a range of mechanisms to strengthen constructive relationships between the research community and government, translating a wide variety of relevant research in practical ways to contribute to the crafting of innovative policy solutions. The Forum supports learning from the past alongside anticipating the future, to assist in dealing rigorously and creatively with the big issues of our time.

The HC Coombs Policy Forum:

  • provides a key national interface between the research community and the Australian Public Service (APS)
  • enhances the evidence base for public policy through targeted projects in line with government needs
  • commissions and publishes analysis of longer-term challenges and opportunities for Australia
  • provides a forum for broader public debate of key policy challenges facing the nation.
